Objectives: To radically change the built environment for huge reduction in energy consumption (eg on an inclusive calculation, it consumes 51% of total energy in the USA). This is obviously a massive task and would be very difficult to achieve on a global scale. The Battle plan is therefore to strategically concentrate on the biggest offenders where the most potential lies: new buildings in China and existing buildings in the USA:

• Approach 1: high level convening support to help draft new build code for China; upscale of retrofit program USA
• Approach 2: 16 demonstration projects (4 countries, Residential/Commercial, New/Retrofit) to prove the model of zero/v low carbon buildings.
• N.B. these approaches are not necessarily mutually exclusive, but a tight battle will be defined once a Project Manager/Director has been found
